Mrs. Sarah Greene Brock

Mrs. Sarah Greene Brock, age 67, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, July 18, 2010.

Sarah was born February 2nd, 1943 in Rome to the late George A. and Thelma Tate Greene. Sarah was a member of West Rome Baptist Church where she served for many years in the Nursery Ministry.

Prior to her retirement in 2008, Sarah was co-owner of Greene's Jeweler's, Inc. Sarah never met a stranger. She spent her life being a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, "Nanny", Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Everyone who knew her loved her, and will share joyful memories of her exuberance for life and her sweet spirit. She was happiest when she was helping others. Sarah was well known for her love of cooking for her family and her love of traveling with her friends and family.

Sarah's family will be comforted by her love of Jesus Christ, her Lord and personal Saviour, whose love and passion she modeled each day of her life. On April 15th, 1962 Sarah married the love of her life, Walter L. Brock who survives. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Connie Brock Stewart and Amy Brock Summerlin, and son-in-law Keith Summerlin. Also surviving are her sisters, Joyce (Sonny) Manning and Catherine Greene McDaniel. Sarah's legacy of love will always encircle her grandchildren, for whom whe was always "Nanny": Sarah Elizabeth Stewart, Hannah Catherine Stewart, Matthew Brock Summerlin, Jake Walker Summerlin, and Ellen Ruth Summerlin.

She is also survived by nieces Suzanne Lindsey, Jada Brock DiPietro, and Elaine Manning (Tony) Abercrombie and their son, Jackson Abercrombie; sisters-in-law Linda Brock Holland, Elaine Brock, and brother-in-law Myron Brock; nephews Shawn Brock, Dale Brock, Rusty Dixon and Alan Dixon and their families.

The family will receive friends at West Rome Baptist Church Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Open Door Home or the West Rome Baptist Church Nursery Ministry.
