Roy Mac Scruggs

Dr. Roy McAllister Scruggs of Chamblee, Georgia passed away at his home September 1, 2009.

He was born April 2, 1936 in Morven, Georgia to the late J. Leon Scruggs and Winiferd McAllister Scruggs.

He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned an undergraduate degree as well as a Master of Science in Engineering Mechanics and a Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering. He began his professinal career at the Lockheed-Georgia Company in Marietta, Georgia and subsequently held the position of Chief Scientist with Consulting Aviation Services Incorporated. Dr. Scruggs was an Adjunct for Decision Services at Georgia State University, and Adjunct for Applied Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Scruggs is survived by his daughter: Susan and Ralph White of Buchanan, Georgia; son: Legh Scruggs and Dianne Wood, grandson: Christopher Bradlee Scruggs, brother: William G. Scruggs of Newnan, Georgia; sister: Eleanor and William Minor of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews.
