Roger Allen Matthews

Roger Allen Matthews 72 of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, with his family by his side.
Roger was born in Atlanta, Ga. To Jack and Helen Matthews, who have preceded him in death.
He is survived by a loving partner of 24 years Linda Bullock, his children; Jody Matthews, Sharon (Gary) Walls, Jason Matthews. His siblings; Ellen Kirk, Julia (Dale) Roysden, Jeff (Brenda) Matthews. As well as seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Roger had worked for Eastern Airlines for 19 years, there he enjoyed playing on the traveling softball team. He was a Staff Sergeant in the USAF from 1968 to 1973 and was awarded a National Defense SVC Metal and was a Small Arms Expert. He worked out with his sons, as he has set the bar high for them for squat pressing 405lbs and bench pressing 270lbs at the age of 70.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.

Roger was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
