Margaret Abernathy

Mrs. Margaret Ann Abernathy, age 79, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2017. Mrs. Abernathy was born in Summerville, Georgia to Willie & Lillie Mae Brackett. She retired from Cobb County Public Schools Food Service Department. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler participating on many leagues. She enjoyed traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and she loved dogs. She was active in the DAV and the American Legion. In her spare time, she helped to prepare boxes of food for the less fortunate. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Harvey E. Abernathy; a son, Charles Michael Wright; and two sisters. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a daughter, Susan Abernathy Fields; four grandchildren: Amy Abernathy, Kristy Wright, BobbieJo Denton, and Dallas Fields; and four great-grandchildren. The family will gather for burial services at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a time to be determined.
