Kathleen Carol Mcmichael

Kathleen Carol McMichael, 79 of Bartow County, GA, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Northside Hospital – Cherokee surrounded by her family.

Kathleen, known for many years as Carol, was born in Kingston, Jamaica on March 12, 1945 to Noel and Kay Coxe. At a young age, she moved to Miami, Fla where she was raised with her 3 brothers, Howard, Bruce and Christopher. At the age of 19, she met her husband, Donald (Don) McMichael. In the 1970's she became a citizen of the US while raising her 3 children. She worked many years as a Secretary at Lockheed Martin. Kathleen loved her family and was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. You never saw her without a smile on her face. She loved music, especially reggae and country. She also loved to play bingo. She enjoyed being dressed up, and it was always obvious her favorite color was purple. But most importantly, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Kay Coxe, her siblings, Howard Coxe, Bruce Coxe, Christopher Coxe, her husband, Donald Ray McMichael, and her first born son, Donald Ray McMichael, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kerri DeeAnn Sturdivant, son Bryan Anthony McMichael, her grandchildren, Michael Sturdivant, Chris Sturdivant, Daniel Sturdivant, Billy Robertson, Alyssa Robertson, Austin Robertson, Ashley McMichael, Marshall Sturdivant and Matthew Sturdivant as well as her great grandchildren, Lee, Maiya, Paislee and Rose.

The family will have a private celebration of life honoring Kathleen, and she will be placed to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
