Jack L. Mace, age 91 of Kennesaw died Monday, February 6, 2017 at his residence. He is survived by his granddaughter, Sherry K. Howells and her husband Tony; two great grandchildren, Macen C. Howells and Caitlin R. Howells all of Marietta; brother, Bill Mace of Indiana; nephew, Thomas Roger of Evansville, Indiana.
Jack was born on March 4, 1925, son of the late Mack and Ellen Mace, graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1942. He was a veteran of WWII, and served overseas in Europe in the 30th, Infantry Division. Also Korea Conflict in 2nd. Infantry Division in 1951. Prior to retirement in 1989, he had worked for Ryder Truck Lines, for 25 years. Member of American Legion, VFW, and life member of DAV and was Secretary/Treasurer of the Columbus, Ohio Retiree Club, where he resided for 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Spurr Mace whom he married on August 21, 1964, in Terre Haute, Indiana; brothers, Darrell P. Mace and Jerry R. Mace.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Acworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Gwin officiating. Interment will be held in the summer in Indiana at Roselawn Memorial Park.
