Donna Rae Gabby

Donna Rae Gabby, of Peachtree City Ga, passed away on January 19. 2021. She was 87 years old and resided at Somerby Memory Care in Peachtree City.

Born on June 24, 1933, in Forest City Iowa, to the late Donald Cottington and Henrietta Slattenow Cottington. Donna met Harold Gabby(Gab) when she worked at the Air Force Academy.

Donna and Gab married on December 16, 1960. They spent 25 years in the Air Force traveling and living all over the world. Donna's number one focus was loving and caring for her family. She was the best support not only for her husband, but many of the military wives and families she had under her watch as the Commander's wife.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold H Gabby of Peachtree City Georgia. One daughter, Kristi (Jim) White of Peachtree City. One son, Brent (Ana) Gabby of Lexington, Massachusetts.

One brother, Douglas Cottington of Ankney, Iowa. She was blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren. James (Katie) White of Shalimar Florida, Matthew (Angie) White of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Katie White of Peachtree City. Sofia and Nico Gabby of Lexington, Mass. Donna also had two beautiful great-grandchildren, Avery and Bennett White of Shalimar Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Judith Huinker.

Due to the Covid virus, the family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date in Peachtree City. The family will also have a memorial service this summer in Garner, Iowa.
