Donald Eugene Barker left this world peacefully in the presence of his Loved ones the morning of June 24, 2021 at 6:20 AM in Rome Georgia at Winthrop Health ..he was at the age of 85.
Donald departed from life to join..
His son: Duane Barker, 3 brothers: Harry Akers, George Akers and Thomas Barker , 2 Sisters: Pearl Marie Tunney Kramer and Donna Jean Akers Vichosky. Aunt: Pearl Currie, Uncle: James (Frenchie) Currie, Mother: Myrtle Shepley and Father: Milfred Barker.
Donald was born in West Brownsville Pennsylvania on October 27, 1935, to Myrtle and Milfred, he grew up in Brownsville and graduated from Brownsville high school where he then left to join the Air Force at the age of 18 on April 12th, 1954, where he was a basic airman and served for 3 yrs 1 month and 25 days, 2 of those years being spent overseas. he also had a specialty in air police and served our beautiful country till he was honorably discharged from his last duty in the 66th Air Police Squadron on August 5th, 1957, and earned a national Defense service medal. Donald Barker is a Korean War Veteran. A True Hero isn't measured by the size of his strength but by the strength of his Heart
Donald then went to work at Southside Hospital as a maintenance man where he met Armeda Morris and married her on July 2, 1963. They started a family adding a daughter Sonja in August of 1963 then in January 1967 added a son Duane. They lived 18 years of marriage till they parted their separate ways, resulting in Donald moving to Monroe Michigan in 1983 where he met his current wife Doris Barker. They married in the spring of 1987. Combining their family of 8 children and sharing their life and home happily for 34 years.

Ex-wife: Armeda Morris (I'll carry on the love for our Daughter and Son)
Granddaughter: Natasha Benore (I'll carry on your love of music)
Great Grandchildren: William and Alexis Reiss, Natalie and Carter Benore and Aurora Benore
Great Great Grandchildren: Zoey and Nova Reiss
There will be no funeral services as of his wishes.. but instead, a small ceremony with his close family and Friends. Date to be announced privately. Cards and Flowers can be sent to 85 Worthington Rd. Kingston, Ga 30145
