Mr. Charles Herbert McGinnis, 84, of Cartersville, Ga. passed away July 2, 2015 at Townsend Park Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cartersville, Georgia.
Mr. McGinnis was born February 9, 1931 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the son of Ruben McGinnis and Georgia Idell (Cline) McGinnis. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Mr. McGinnis was a very skilled farm equipment mechanic. He loved to hunt, fish, and grow his vegetable garden.
Surviving are his 7 sons, Charles Hobert McGinnis of Cleveland, Tenn., Lamar McGinnis of Dalton, Ga., John P. McGinnis of Cartersville, Ga., Ronnie V. McGinnis of Cartersville, Ga., Charles B. McGinnis of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, JosephJ. McGinnis of Cartersville, Ga., and Matthew O. McGinnis of Rome, Ga. Mr. McGinnis was also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015, at 5 p.m. at Dellinger Park in Cartersville, Georgia.
Cremation services were provided by West Georgia Crematory.
