Carole Starr Cain, age 67 of Cumming, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 while under the care of EmbracingHospice after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on January 14, 1948 to the late Henry B. and Virginia Starr. Carole was a member of the first graduating class at Donoho School in Anniston, AL. Carole graduated from Jacksonville State University in Early Childhood Development and English Literature. She went to work for the Department of Children Services for the State of Alabama; helping families with children with disabilities. In 1976 Carole and her husband moved to Georgia with their two children. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Carole will be remembered for her great cooking and love for others. She embraced every person she meet with empathy and unconditional love.
Carole was appreciated by all that knew her. In addition to being ahomemaker, Carole worked for The Salvation Army and the Lupus Foundation of Atlanta. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Harry Cain; son, Alan Cain of Cumming; daughter, Julia Cain of Cumming; sister, Joann Denman of Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by brother Henry B. Starr Jr. of Alexandria, Al. She has several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of McClellan in Anniston, AL. Family Tribute to follow after service in Calhoun County. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
