Bobbie Sue Long Rochester

Bobbie Sue "Rain" Rochester, age 67 of Atlanta died Monday, February 22, 2016. A native of Seneca, SC; she was born on March 23, 1948 to the late Eugene and Maebell Long. She was a production manager for Capricorn Records.

On February5, 2009, Bobbie "Rain" stepped into The Georgia Music Hall of Fame to take her place in music history beside such greats as Greg Allman, Little Richard, The Rolling Stones, Alan Walden, president of Walden Music, and developer of the famous song, "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Phil Walden, president of Capricorn Records. According to Phil Walden, "Rain was the most soulful person he had ever known. Gary Montgomery, President of Left Lane Entertainment said, "She is a living legend, and the inspiration of many songs written at that time."

She is survived by her only son, Stephen Rochester, daughter-in-law, Tammy Rochester; grandchildren, Brittney Rochester and Braylyn Rochester. A private viewing and reflection of her life was held in the early morning hour on Friday, February 26, 2016.
