Barbara Kate Addison

Barbara Kate Addison, 82, died May 22, 2014 in Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA. Mrs. Addison was born October 29, 1931, in High Springs, FL, to Martin Z. Thomas and Mary Lavonia Thomas. She graduated from Florida State University and taught elementary school her entire career.

In retirement, Barbara enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by singing in the Smyrna First Baptist Church choir. Mrs. Addison was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Addison Jr. a veteran of the Korean War.

She is survived by her sister Mary Lou Howington of Jacksonville, FL, and three siblings; daughter Katrina Barnes, son and daughter-in-law Barry and Sheryl Addison and grandson Tylor Elliott of Marietta, GA, son and daughter-in-law Martin and Johnna Addison and grandchildren Tyler Addison, Sara Addison, and Ben Addison of Smyrna, GA.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Smyrna, GA Saturday May 24 at 11AM.
